Pistols at Dawn made it to Lincoln at The Bourbon Theatre to headline the Kampout 4 Kids event sponsored by 104.1 The Blaze. It’s a great event where all the proceeds go to help families in the Lincoln area during the holiday season. I was lucky enough to catch Pistols at Dawn a couple of years ago in Kansas City as the opening act for Mammoth WVH and Alter Bridge. At that time I was not really familiar with them but remember walking away from the show being impressed with what I has seen and heard. And they did not let me down this time either.
As it was a little smaller venue then before, but the Bourbon Theater was a perfect place for Lincoln to get acquainted with these guys. I promise if you get a chance to see these guys in action you won’t be disappointed. You will get a high energy rock and roll show that is full of great hooks and riffs to keep you rolling throughout the night.
Pistols at Dawn is made up of Adam Jaffe on drums, Gabriel Cuevas on bass, Will James on guitar, and Jon Sookdew Sing on lead vocals. And while they are all great musicians, I will say that Will James may be the best kept secret in rock and roll. This guy is an amazing guitarist. Something that I remembered immediately on the opening notes of the show this night. If you want to see one of the best, you definitely need to come to a Pistols at Dawn show. This guy is worth the price of admission himself. Then throw in Sing on lead vocals, who I would call the ringmaster of the show. He keeps the crowd going with the energy and you know he loves his job because he’s always smiling up there on stage. If you can’t get to a show, you should definitely check out a couple of singles they have released this year. Obsession and Not Sorry are a couple of killer tracks. Stream them wherever you do your streaming, it will give you a great idea of who these guys are. Bands like Pistols at Dawn make me feel good about the future of rock and roll.
